Hasan Gokal, has been arraign of stealing a COVID-19 vaccine to give to friends and family. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg told KHOU 11 that Gokal was launch and suffusing with “theft by a public servant” after admitting to a colleague that he took a vial of vaccine.

Hasan Gokal Allegedly Stole COVID-19 Vaccine

According to a announcement published ,Dr. Hasan Gökal stole the bottle including nine doses while working at the county vaccination facility at Lyndsay Lyons Park in Humble on December 29.

After one week, Gökal told a Harris County Public Health worker and then reported him to supervisors. Misuse of a vaccine could result in the loss of government funding to the county. According to Harris County Public Health officials who were the first to inquiry the issue that led to Gokal’s firing.

Gökal is on trial by the Harris County District Attorney’s Public Corruption Division. He is accused of theft by a public official. Class A Misdemeanor carries a prison sentence of up to one year and a fine of $ 4,000.

 Gökal’s lawyer, Paul Doyle, sent the following statement and Details :

Dr. Gökal is a private public official who has made COVID-19 vaccine dosages that would otherwise expire go into the arms of those who meet the vaccine criteria. Harris County would have preferred Dr. Gökal to let the vaccines go to waste.
