James is the son of Shirley Ashworth who is a fashion model and later a sales and marketing professional. and Neil Arthur who is famous as a DJ and drummer. He has completed his primary school education at Ings Farm Primary School in Redcar, North Yorkshire. In 1997, he went from the local British School of Bahrain. In 2003, Arthur return back to England and started studying at  Rye Hills School in Redcar when he was 13 years old.
