Karen Sheila Gillan was born on 28 November 1987, in Inverness, Scotland. She is a Scottish actress and filmmaker. At age 16, Karen decided she wanted to pursue her acting career. She completed an HNC Acting and Performance course at Telford College. Later, at age of 18, she moved to London to study at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.
